Health testing is extremely important. We follow the Great Dane Breed Clubs and British Kennel Club guidance on health testing, plus a few extras we wanted to be sure of. The same standards befit our future sire selections. We breed our own assistance prospects, and put every effort into our breeding journey so that we ourselves may have a happy, healthy, beautiful, even tempered, fit for purpose puppy. A copy of all the health tests/results of our Dam and the selected Sire also appear in our puppy packs.
We perform the following;
BVA Hip scoring
BVA Elbow scoring
BVA Eyes (Gonioscopy)
Blood tests for DCM (Dilated Cardiomyopathy) and markers (ProBNP & Troponin levels)
DNA/Colour testing
Heart testing (ECG/24 hr halter monitor/Auscultation yearly)
IMGD (Inherited Myopathy in Great Danes.)
LEMP (Leukoencephalomyelopathy)
DM (Degenerative Myelopathy)
